Imagine not having a power bill. Is that as amazing as it sounds? Yes, yes it is!
Solar is officially the least expensive form of electricity generation on the planet. Watt for watt, it is cheaper than anything else. Because of high data center energy consumption, it is expected that grid-power rates will continue to increase. States like Texas are already suffering rolling blackouts from data center energy usage and that is expected to affect more areas, such as ours, in the near future.

Solar is disaster resistant. When Hurricane Helene came through Western North Carolina in late 2024, since we were on solar and had lost our internet, we had no idea of the scope of the devastation. We still had power even though it took weeks or longer for the grid to be restored to many places.
